Snowmobiler Found Guilty of Impaired Driving Causing Death of Teen

A 29-year-old man has been found guilty of impaired driving causing death in a snowmobile crash that killed a 15-year-old. On January 5th, 2008, James Cook was driving a snowmobile on Muskoka Road near Sundridge when he struck a snow bank. The force threw 15-year-old Zack Decoste forward while the sled and Cook hit a tree. The machine landed on Decoste and crushed him to death. A judge found Cook guilty of impaired driving causing Decoste’s death and driving while disqualified. He will be sentenced on March 23rd.
